Pax Vapor has created the Pax 2 portable dry herb vaper. The Pax 2 is a significant improvement on the previous model and can compete with the best portable vaporizers. The Pax 2 features new innovations such as a redesigned mouthpiece that can sense your lips and adjust power/temp regulation to maximize use.

Pax 2 has a longer battery life than the original, a deeper oven to provide more even heating and four heat settings instead of the original three. You can also adjust the temperature range to suit your needs. You can adjust your session temperature by 10 degrees lower or 10 degrees higher.

A few things that I don’t like about the Pax 2 are the weak magnet on its charging dock and draw resistance (improved by half-pack lid), but I’ll go into more detail in my Pax 2 review.

For many years, the Pax 2 was my favorite portable vaporizer for outdoor activities. The Pax 3 has taken over. It is compact and strong, making it a great portable vaporizer for outdoor activities such as mountain biking, ski/snowboarding, skating, rollerblading, hiking, and skateboarding. It has survived many drops in the snow, being pushed by my bike, and even falling on trails. The Pax 2 is still strong. For that added peace of mind, you also get a 2-year warranty.

If the Pax 2 is not available, I recommend purchasing it ($149) at one of my authorized online shops: PaxVapor directly or via Vapor (Formerly VapeWorld). Continue reading to read my complete Pax 2 review.

The Pax 2 and now the Pax 3 produce the best overall quality vapor from any conduction portable. It produces big clouds at higher temperatures and is very tasty and smooth at lower temperatures.

Pax 2 Size & Portability

The Pax 2 is very portable. It is very discreet and easy to conceal out in public thanks to its slim design. The new flush mouthpiece design is especially useful.

Overall Dimensions The Pax 2 is 90.2g in weight and measures 3.87 inches high, 1.21 inches wide and.08 inch deep. The Pax 2 in UK is portable and discreet, making it one of the most popular vapes.

Pax 2 was 98g, so it is smaller and lighter than the original Pax. The newest Pax 3 weighs in at 8-10g. The Pax 2’s exact size is identical to the Pax 2, but is slightly larger and a little heavier.

2 Mouthpiece Options I love the concealment and discretion offered by the flat mouthpiece design. It is completely different to the original Pax model, and sits flush with its top. It doesn’t come with a mouthpiece so it’s hard to tell.

The top is also easy to clean as there are no click components. This category has been a success so far.

The raised mouthpiece does give me some batter airflow, but it is a little too high above the vaporizer.

Heating and Temperature Options

Pax 2 Temperature Setting – These four temperatures can be set at 360/380/400/420 Fahrenheit, or approximately 180/193/204/215 Celsius.

Their CMO stated that they had redesigned PAX 2 to include both lip-sensing and a new heating algorithm. This adjusts temperature dynamically depending on how it is used. To ensure consistency from the first .”, we also focused the temp algorithm more on the materials than the oven temperature.

Personally, I have noticed a greater flavor retention and a longer shelf life with the new Pax. I also find that the new heating technology uses herbs more efficiently. It’s also better at breaking down single oven packs into multiple sessions. You can increase efficiency even more by purchasing the half-pack lid from Paxvapor Store’s accessory section.

Chamber Info and Bowl Size

Pax 2 has a stainless steel oven that’s 91% larger than the original Pax. However, it’s deeper and less wide to help you vape your herbs evenly because there’s more material being heated.

Loading Tips For best results, a fully packed Pax 2 oven is recommended. The oven can hold.30-40 grams of herbs, depending on the grind size, and the half-pack lid holds.15-20 grams.

Battery Information

Pax 2 Life The battery claims that it can provide up to 30% more use than the older model, and I have found that the Pax 2 lasts about 90 minutes on a single charge. This is a good result for portable vaporizers, and the Pax 3 has even longer battery life.

Charging Time The Pax 2 has a longer battery life than most other units and charges much faster. The Pax 2 can be fully charged from dead in just 100 minutes.

Finally, Pax batteries are known for their long-lasting performance so you can be sure your battery will last for many years. The Mighty is a better vaporizer than the Pax 2.

Charge Pax 2 The Pax 2 can be charged using a magnetic USB charging station that attaches to the PAX 2. There is nothing to plug into the vaporizer. Just attach it to the outside, and it will start charging. It’s pretty cool. It’s USB-enabled so it can be charged anywhere, and/or you can pick up a battery pack to take with you. My only complaint is that the battery is not replaceable.

*BONUS: The old Pax charger can be unplugged from the base and plugged into the magnetic USB charging port on the Pax 2. This allows you to charge your Pax 2 from the wall using your old Pax charger, which is quite cool.

2 Accessories

The Pax has an extra raised mouthpiece, which is very similar to the original Pax. It seems to be a bit too warm for my lips so I don’t like it. The new flush design is great! This kit doesn’t contain any mouthpiece lube, as you don’t need it.

The package includes a good-sized ISO bottle and high-quality pipecleaners to clean the vapor pathway. You can just dip the pipe cleaners in ISO and clean out the vapor path. It’s much less than the older model.

Update It is now recommended that Pax 2 users purchase the $13 Half-Pack lid. This reduces draw resistance and makes it possible to use half-loaded ovens (.15-.20grams) more efficiently.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Overall, the Pax 2 is a great unit. The maintenance and cleaning are much easier than the old one. This was the main problem with the original Pax 2. Although it isn’t as easy to clean as the Crafty+ and other portable vaporizers, it’s far better than the OG Pax.

Clear out the chamber as soon as possible after each session. You’ll notice that the draw resistance increases and it’s time for you to clean the Pax 2. To clear the vapor path, use a little ISO and the pipe cleaners. To clean the mouthpiece and chamber, you can use a qtip to apply a little ISO.

Warranty Information

Pax 2 has a 2-year warranty. I have never had any problems with Pax customer service. Pax Vaporizers is my recommendation if someone says reliability and customer support are important factors in their decision to purchase a vaporizer.

Pax 2 Vaporizer Comparisons

Pax 3 – The Pax 3 vaporizer is the latest from PaxVapor. It not only vapes dry herbs but also has a new concentrate cartridge which allows you to use extracts. Pax 3’s upgrades include faster heat-up times and longer battery life. There are also more temperature options.

The Pax 3 is also available in two kits: the Pax 3 Complete Kit for $249, which includes the concentrate option, and the Pax 3 Basic Kit which includes everything you need when vaping dry herbs.

You might be unsure about which vaporizer to choose. I suggest you read my Pax 2 and Pax 3 Vaporizer Comparation for all the differences. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Firefly 2+ The Firefly 2+ portable vaporizer is the most powerful “pure convection”. Although it’s not as discreet or lightweight as the Pax 2, the Firefly 2 Plus is my top rated portable vape vaporizer in terms of vapor quality (taste and temp, vapor production). The device heats up in just 5-7 seconds, including pre-heat, so it’s easy to get a quick session on the move.

It all depends on the type of session you want. The Pax 2 is a good option if you are looking for longer sessions at a lower price. The Firefly 2 Plus is the best choice for those who want fast sessions and the best vapor quality.

Crafty+ The Crafty+ vape is a great option for those who want to be mobile but need more control over their temperature and draw resistance. Although the Crafty Plus is expensive, it’s one of my favorite portable vapes. There are no packing or learning techniques. Simply load the items you need, grab your draw, then go.

Although there are some drawbacks, such as a slower heat-up and a shorter battery life, the flavor and cool temperatures of the vapor are well worth it. For those who enjoy a smooth, free-flowing draw, this is the best vaporizer.
